Retail workers in Canada have the right to stick together, and by sticking together we create a voice for fairness that employers respect.

By now we all know that Target is going to convert more than 100 Zellers stores, with the first wave of conversions scheduled for completion early next year.

Although Target has clearly said that it will not allow Zellers workers to keep their jobs once their workplaces are converted, you and all retail workers in Canada have certain rights under the law that prevent employers from firing and rehiring a person to do the same job, on the same site, for less.

By sticking together with other Zellers workers – and with the full support of Canada’s largest retail workers’ union – you and your coworkers can best protect your future by taking full advantage of your rights under the law.

Together, you will have a stronger voice on the job, and you will make Target an even better place to work and shop.
